Fast, precise, quiet - the Sony 50mm f/1.4 GM's autofocus is impressive, powered by powerful XD linear motors and an advanced control algorithm. Vibrations are minimized while focusing is extremely precise - features that are especially beneficial when shooting video, and especially with this lens with reduced Focus Breathing, achieve the best shots for you. Breathing Compensation is also supported in compatible Alpha series bodies.
Superior Image Quality
Theoptical construction of the Sony 50mm f/1.4 GM includes two XA (extreme aspherical) elements and one ED (extra-low dispersion) glass element, as well as Sony's AR Nano Coating II, which largely eliminates a wide variety of aberrations such as chromatic aberrations, ghosting, reflections, and the like. The result is clear, high-contrast images that are crisp right to the edge of the frame.

Thanks to the 11 built-in aperture blades, the bokeh is circular and soft throughout, and is especially well-suited for portrait photos.
