The Sony Alpha 7R V is not only a 61-megapixel monster, when it comes to autofocus this camera can really show itself. Thanks to the AI-based autofocus system, the camera actively supports you in your shooting.

The 61 megapixel BSI sensor of the A7rV

The Exmor R CMOS sensor of the Sony Alpha 7 R V offers a great dynamic range and better noise performance than its predecessor. The IBIS image stabilizer built into the system camera offers image stabilization of up to 8 stops.

The sensor enables continuous shooting of up to 10 frames per second. When using a fast CFexpress Type A card, the buffer memory never runs full and allows recording of up to 583 compressed RAW series.

New sensor with dust protection system

The Alpha 7R V's sensor filter is set in motion, causing dust to dissipate. Furthermore, the camera closes the shutter when the lens is changed.

Up to 240 MP shooting, thanks to Pixel Shift Multi Shooting

Users who require extremely high resolution will not be disappointed with the Alpha 7R V. For example, when using the Sony Imaging Edge desktop app, the A7R V offers to stitch together up to 16 shots, with the software able to detect shake and shift depending on the subject and correct for it.

ISO performance of the Sony Alpha 7R V

Here, the camera offers an ISO of 100-32,000 in regular mode, and beyond that, the ISO can be expanded to 50-102,500.

The autofocus of the Sony A 7R V (ILCE-7RM5)

If you are looking for a camera that displays extreme speed and precision, the A 7R V is the one for you. The new Bionz XR image processor forms a perfect symbiosis with the AI Unit.

New standards are set here, especially in the recognition of human subjects: With the help of AI, the camera not only reliably recognizes faces and eyes, but also entire limbs, such as arms and legs. In this way, the person always remains unerringly in focus - even when he or she steps out of the picture.

Another special feature: the focus of the Sony Alpha 7 RV (ilce-7rm5) also recognizes front windows of airplanes and trains. A dream for every plane + train spotter. But the camera also offers many advantages for cycling enthusiasts and wildlife photographers thanks to AI support.

What subjects can the Sony recognize?

People, animals, birds, insects, cars, trains and airplanes. These motifs are no problem for the 7 R V and make everyday life easier for every photo enthusiast.

The Sony Alpha 7R V's autofocus covers a wide sensor range of a full 76% with a total of 693 points in phase detection. Interesting for videographers: In 16:9 format, the coverage of the focus points on the sensor area is 86%. Precise focus measurements are possible with this system camera at up to -4.0 EV.

Up to 8K video recording with the 7R V

Photographers who also want to take advantage of the camera's video capabilities will benefit from image quality of up to 8K. The new effective heat dissipation allows 8K / 24fps videos to be recorded at just over 30 min without interruption. The Sony Alpha 7R V also offers a 10-bit Pro Res RAW output, which can also be output via a full-size HDMI output. The whole thing is rounded out by 4K video resolution at 60 fps and H.265. As you would expect from Sony, the Alpha 7R V features S-Cinetone™ and S-Log3 with 14+ stops of latitude. Likewise, the camera can rely on Breathing Compensation to ensure a consistent angle of view.

The Alpha 7 R V's high-resolution + sharp viewfinder

Sony has listened to the criticism and has now installed a high-resolution OLED viewfinder with 9.44 million pixels and a 0.9x viewfinder magnification in this model of the Alpha 7 series, which does justice to the high resolution of the camera. Thanks to its 120fps, this also creates an excellent image display in the shortest possible time.

The flexible camera display of the α 7R V

The camera display of the A7R V can be tilted in various directions and thus ensures a high flexibility of the camera, thanks to which even unusual perspectives can be achieved without any problems. This display also ensures a perfect view of the display when you can't use the viewfinder.

Handy and robust: the 7R V

Sony has opted for further improvements to the feel of the camera body with this camera. For example, the grip is more suitable for people with larger hands. The body is perfectly protected from dust and moisture; all buttons and connections are sealed on the Sony Alpha 7R V. The weight of the camera is 724g, which is a bit heavier than the previous model, but can certainly be forgiven due to the significantly more elaborate technology on board.

Connectivity and ports

There are two CFexpress Type A card slots in the Sony Alpha 7R V, which are also compatible with an SDXC card with UHS-II. The Sony is equipped with some exciting ports + features that will not only please professional studio photographers. Most notably is the USB-C port, which transfers up to 10 Gbps and also enables remote control. Furthermore, the Sony Alpha 7R V has a 5GHz WLAN port, which is suitable for tethering, FTP upload and smartphone transfer.

Additionally, the USB-C port built into the ILCE-7RM5 not only offers the ability to charge the camera via Power Delivery, but also a webcam / livestreaming function.

Was soll man sagen, Top
Originale Akkus sind einfach die besten. Ich habe auch schon einige andere Hersteller versucht, allerdings blähen sie sich nach 2-3 Jahren auf und einmal habe ich eine solche Batterie auch fast nicht mehr aus meiner Kamera bekommen. Das ist ein Bereich, wo sparen nicht empfehlenswert ist, auch, wenn einige Dritthersteller eine höhere Kapazität und demnach eine längere Laufzeit versprechen.

Nur das Original
Nachdem ich jahrelang einen Nachbauakku im Einsatz hatte welcher beim Update der Kamera nicht mehr akzeptiert wurde ohne die lästige Bestätigung der Meldung, musste originaler Ersatz her. Dieser wird erwartungsgemäß ohne Probleme von der Kamera erkannt und hat einfach die bessere Kapazität, obwohl viele nachbauten gleich oder mehr Leistung haben laut Angabe. Mittlerweile habe ich mit dem
Original ein besseres Gefühl und die Kameras in denen man den Akku verwendet sind immerhin relativ hochpreisig. Da geht man ungern Risiken ein: daher für mich nur noch Original!
