Leofoto Summit LM-405C Carbon tripod
With five segments per tripod leg, it is the model with the most leg segments in the Summit series. This enables a relatively short pack size of only 530 mm. Like all models in the Summit series, the LM-405C is also designed to carry heavier camera equipment. Its sturdy leg segments can carry weights of no less than 40 kg. The working heights: maximum 1,650 mm, minimum 95 mm. This minimum height, which is particularly suitable for many tasks, is possible because the tripod comes without a center column (available as an option). With its own weight of 2,450 g, the LM-405C Summit can definitely be described as light in this performance class. Included in the scope of delivery: removable tripod plate, 100 mm video half shell, carrying bag, stainless steel spikes and multi-tool.

Leofoto Summit series - super-strong, yet lightweight carbon tripods
Similar in strength to the powerful tripods of the Leofoto Mountain series, the carbon tripods of the Summit series are, however, a good deal lighter. This makes them particularly interesting wherever bulky camera equipment is used for landscape, nature and sports photography. It is Leofoto's philosophy that the tripod legs of the Summit series, which are made of high-density, ten-layer carbon, all achieve top values in terms of bending stiffness, strength and vibration damping. All metal parts also meet the highest standards of durability and longevity. Manufactured from high-strength aircraft aluminum, they achieve their absolute precision and ease of movement through the exclusively CNC-controlled production process - it could hardly be more precise. The individual elements of the carbon tripods in the Summit series are designed to provide secure support for heavy photo or video equipment in particular. To ensure that vibrations and oscillations are dampened to the maximum, an extendable center column has been deliberately omitted.

If you still need it, it is available as an optional accessory.
But that's not all: the tripod plate equipped with a circular bubble level is removable and can be replaced with a half-shell for video cameras, which is included in the scope of delivery. Optional accessories (e.g. a smartphone holder, a magic arm, etc.) can be attached to the 3/8 inch threads of the tripod plate. Depending on the model, the tripod legs consist of two, three, four or even five segments. It goes without saying that they always glide smoothly and are torsion-proof. And thanks to the practical, non-slip rubberized twist locks, they can be quickly loosened or fixed with ease. Non-slip rubber feet and a set of stainless steel spikes are also included as standard. Snow and sand feet can be purchased as optional extras. Conclusion: Extremely strong and durable, the tripods in the Summit series are excellent tools for demanding photographers who always want or even have to rely on the high quality of all their equipment.

Strong, durable and particularly variable
The five leg segments of this tripod, each with diameters of 40, 36, 32, 28 and 25 mm, form a very strong base for heavier camera equipment. The legs are easy to use: the Twistlock system allows the legs to be extended and retracted by simply turning the rubberized lock on each segment. And, of course, the desired leg length can be fixed just as easily at any point along each segment. The tripod plate can be removed, e.g. to replace it with the 100 mm video half-shell included in the scope of delivery. But that's not all, because the tripod plate can be fitted with many heads - regardless of whether they have a 3/8 inch or ¼ inch thread. The practically unlimited choice of tripod heads on the global market is made possible by a small but fine detail: there are two tripod screws on the tripod plate of the LM-405C, one with a 3/8 inch thread and the other with a ¼ inch thread. The tripod has the obligatory non-slip rubber feet. However, a set of stainless steel spikes is also included for particularly difficult terrain. All in all, the Leofoto Summit LM-405C is a high-quality carbon tripod that can easily meet high demands.

Sigma's 70-200 f/2.8 is a strong competitor to lenses from Sony and Panasonic. The attractive price of €1,699 RRP makes the Sigma a worthwhile alternative, especially in comparison to the 70-200 2.8 from Panasonic and Sony's new G-Master, which is significantly more expensive.
