Gray graduated filter from the LEE 100mm system - can be used on almost any Lens
This gray graduated filter is part of the 100mm system from LEE-Filters. The 100mm system is the standard system. It is primarily suitable for SLR cameras. The filter can be attached to almost any Lens using a compatible filter holder and corresponding adapter rings. This offers the great advantage that you can use the filter for all your Lens. All you need is a suitable adapter ring for each Lens.

For even exposure when photographing subjects with strong differences in brightness
A gray graduated filter has a clear and a neutral gray half. The gray half reduces the amount of light entering the Lens. The clear half allows the light to pass through unhindered. All of this helps to achieve an even exposure when photographing subjects with very different brightness ranges. One possible scenario is landscape shots where the ground is dark and the sky is bright blue. But there are also other constellations. Normally, you can only select the right exposure for one image area. This means that the other image area is inevitably either underexposed or overexposed. Under-exposed image areas usually look too dark, while overexposed image areas often look washed out and lack contrast. The gray filter half can be used to darken the brighter image area and then set the appropriate exposure for the darker image area. This helps to create images in which the entire image area is evenly exposed.
