  • LAOWA 50mm f/2.8 2X Ultra Macro APO
  • Macro lens
  • high magnification of 2:1
  • compact and lightweight
  • built-in aperture motor
  • suitable for Micro Four Thirds

The LAOWA 50mm f/2.8 2X Ultra Macro APO Lens is the first macro lens with a maximum magnification of 2:1 that is specially optimized for Micro Four Thirds (MFT) system cameras. The high-quality optical construction with 3 ED glass elements ensures effective apochromatic correction (APO) and eliminates chromatic aberration in both the in-focus and out-of-focus areas. This improves sharpness, clarity and color accuracy, prevents color fringing and considerably simplifies post-processing.

An aperture motor ensures automatic aperture transfer and control directly on the camera. This makes it possible to focus with an open aperture, which is a great advantage for macro shots. The EXIF data is transferred to the camera body and the focus magnifier is automatically activated when the focus ring is turned. The solid metal housing ensures maximum robustness and suitability for outdoor use. Despite this, this macro lens is extremely light at just 240g and very compact at just 79mm long.

In contrast to other macro lenses with a reproduction scale of 1:1, this 2:1 magnifying macro lens enables much more extreme close-ups. The focal length of 50mm corresponds to a 100mm Lens on full-frame cameras and is therefore also an ideal portrait lens with beautiful bokeh. Focusing is manual.
