Compact in size, strong in performance and clear in design: The new FUJIFILM X-E5 expands the successful X series with a model that further develops the characteristic mix of classic, modern design with intuitive operation and advanced image technology.

Weighing just 445 grams*1, the X-E5 is a lightweight mirrorless system camera. At the same time, it offers impressive performance: the back-illuminated 40.2 megapixel "X-Trans CMOS 5 HR" sensor*2 and the powerful X-Processor 5 ensure outstanding image quality and fast data processing.

With the X-E5, FUJIFILM introduces several innovations to the X-E line. The in-camera five-axis image stabilization compensates for camera shake by up to 7.0 EV stops in the center of the image and 6.0 EV stops at the edges*3. This ensures razor-sharp images even in low light.
Another new feature is the cover plate, which is made entirely from milled aluminum and ensures a high-quality feel.

The new Classic Display mode*4 offers a reduced, clear viewfinder display, with all important information appearing at the bottom of the image. The body design allows quick access to dials and levers with just one hand, so you can keep your eyes focused on the subject through the viewfinder.
The X-E5 remains true to the style of the X series and consistently develops it further in terms of design and function. Sophisticated technology and elegant design make the camera a tool that appeals to both beginners and experienced photographers - and reawakens the joy of photography.

Stylish design and intuitive operation
The X-E5 is the first model in the X series to feature a top plate precisely milled from solid aluminum.
The distinctive recess at the back emphasizes the high-quality finish of the metal body and facilitates access to the control dials - for a user-friendly and comfortable shooting experience.

The newly designed film simulation dial features a precisely crafted display window that makes the transition to the body appear almost seamless, creating a flawless finish. Personal preferences for film simulation and image quality can also be conveniently stored as film simulation recipes in positions FS1 to FS3.

The design of the X-E5 has been refined down to the last detail. The viewfinder and diopter adjustment are a perfect fit with the Body and blend harmoniously into the overall concept. The targeted refinement of lines and proportions preserves the traditional camera style and gives the body a stylish, contemporary look. A shoulder strap with an elegant rope look rounds off the sophisticated design concept of the camera.

Visual comfort and quick adjustment
The electronic viewfinder offers a retro-minimalist classic display mode reminiscent of old film cameras. The display is limited to the essentials. Together with a body that allows one-handed operation of dials and levers, users can stay in control of the image composition without taking their eyes off the camera.

The X-E5 also has a Surround View function: it shows the area outside the shooting field through semi-transparent areas or lines, depending on the image format. The viewfinder image conveys the feeling of an optical viewfinder, even though it is an electronic one.

A lever on the front of the camera can be used to select the film simulation recipes and control the user-defined display modes, such as changing the VIEW MODE, adjusting the image format or setting the magnification of the digital teleconverter. The camera thus combines versatility with ease of use.

Powerful technology
An improved gyro sensor and an optimized algorithm now detect movements even more precisely and compensate for camera shake particularly effectively. Despite the compact body, the integrated 5-axis stabilization achieves compensation of up to 7.0 EV steps in the center of the image and 6.0 EV steps at the edges - for razor-sharp images in a wide range of situations.

Thanks to the high-resolution "X-Trans CMOS 5 HR" sensor, subjects can be enlarged by a factor of 1.4 or 2.0 with the digital teleconverter.

The flip-up monitor can be tilted up to 180 degrees upwards and forwards for creative compositions, from high and low perspectives to selfies.
The X-E5 records video in 6.2K/30P and offers tracking autofocus for smooth focus tracking and smooth, high-quality moving images.

High image quality and fast autofocus
The fifth generation of the X series is equipped with the back-illuminated 40.2 megapixel "X-Trans CMOS 5 HR" sensor. Advanced image processing algorithms ensure high resolution and an excellent signal-to-noise ratio.

An improved pixel structure enables a higher light yield and makes ISO 125 available as the standard sensitivity. This results in particularly detailed images with reduced noise. In the previous model*5, this value could only be used via the extended sensitivity range.
The electronic shutter allows ultra-short exposure times of up to 1/180,000 second and therefore extremely precise exposure control.

The autofocus system of the X-E5 offers object-oriented subject recognition based on artificial intelligence. Developed using deep learning technology, the algorithm not only recognizes and tracks people's faces and eyes, but also reliably keeps animals, birds, cars, motorcycles, bicycles, planes, trains, insects and drones*6 in focus. A new AF algorithm improves tracking performance on moving subjects and increases autofocus precision in low-contrast scenes.

Tamron's new 17-70mm F/2.8 is the fast 4.1x standard zoom lens for mirrorless system cameras with APS-C sensor. It offers a universal focal length range of 17mm to 70mm (25.5 - 105mm KB equivalent) with a constant aperture of F/2.8, as well as high image quality. It features Tamron's proprietary VC image stabilization system to prevent camera shake when shooting, and uses artificial intelligence (AI) to ensure steady images when shooting movies.

The Lens is exceptionally compact and lightweight, as well as protected against splashing water. The front lens features a water-repellent fluorine coating. Like the other models in the Tamron E-series, the 17-70mm F2.8 has a 67mm filter thread, so a polarizing or gray filter will fit all models. Excellent image quality
The optical construction of the 17-70mm F2.8 comprises 16 elements in 12 groups, including two GM (Glass Molded Aspherical) lenses and a hybrid asphere. The arrangement of these special optical components ensures high resolving power across the entire image area.

Built-in image stabilizer for sharp photos and steady video
The 17-70mm F/2.8 features Tamron's excellent VC image stabilizer. When shooting handheld, it ensures optimal sharpness by effectively compensating for unwanted camera movement. This means that even when shooting at slow shutter speeds, such as at dusk or indoors, the optical performance of the Lens can be exploited to the fullest. When filming, VC technology ensures improved image stabilization compared to conventional systems through the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

Shortest focusing distance only 19 cm in wide angle
The shortest focusing distance of the 17-70mm F2.8 is only 19 cm. With the new zoom lens, the subject can thus be photographed from a shorter distance than with conventional fast zoom lenses for APS-C cameras. At a 70mm telephoto focal length, impressive close-ups are possible at a minimum distance of 39cm.

Compact and lightweight design
The 17-70mm F2.8 weighs only 525g and, at just 119.3mm in length and 74.6mm in diameter, is exceptionally handy for a zoom lens with built-in image stabilization. Combined with a Fujifilm APS-C mirrorless camera, it forms a well-balanced unit with high ease of use.

Fast autofocus with RXD technology
The autofocus is based on an exceptionally quiet RXD (Rapid eXtra-silent stepping Drive) stepping motor. The autofocus system also features a sensor that continuously determines the current focus setting of the Lens. This ensures fast and precise automatic focusing. The focus is reliably tracked for fast-moving subjects. This means that sharp telephoto shots can be taken freehand, even in dynamic situations. The autofocus works very quietly, so no annoying focusing noises are recorded during video recordings.
